What Does the Future Hold for La'el Collins?

Adam Schefter is reporting that La'el Collins attempted to circumvent the NFL Drug Testing Collection, via bribes. The evidence was revealed when Collins was attempting to get his suspension overturned or reduced.

Collins will be eligible to play Oct. 18th, which lands after the Dallas Cowboys play the New England Patriots, at which point the Cowboys will enter their bye. Collins could make his appearance versus the Minnesota Vikings, but will he?

Collins has proven several times in recent years that he is not the most reliable player. In 2020, it was reported Collins showed up to camp overweight and out of shape. His season was cut short after a bad hip required season ending surgery as well.

Question will be whether or not Collins will be in shape when he returns to the Cowboys facilities on Oct 18th? Do you trust Collins to be ready to play?

If not, Terence Steele could be entrenched enough, where you simply go with the hot hand and the more reliable player, plain and simple.

The suspension will cost Collins roughly $2 million and, per the CBA, voids the injury guarantee worth $6.48 million in his 2022 salary.

The suspension affects Collins contract where it actually would in-fact be easier for the Cowboys to hit the built-in ejection button for the 2022 season.

Let's see how this plays out.
